What is Graphic Design?

Graphic design is the art of visual communication, usually human-made. Graphic design a vast industry that is made of a multitude of components. Like it or not, you will always encounter some type of graphic design, especially in this day and age. Graphic design can be used to instruct, express, convey a message, direct, and guide. The list goes on. The earliest forms of graphic designs that we know of are cave paintings. The first ones that we discovered are about 64,000 years old (Wikipedia).
