Introduction
Today we will be creating a very simple HTML website that is about a restaurant. My goal is to introduce you to the programming world. I say programming with a lot of reserve because the IT community does not always consider HTML coding as real “programming”. So, what you will learn today is mainly HTML, which will be combined with another language called CSS used for styling the website so that according to your desired look and feel of your final design.
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language and it is the standard markup language for Web pages. this language does is. These two languages work together seamlessly. I will show you the simple methods to change class properties and other elements.
For this tutorial, there is just one basic prerequisite: that you have interacted with HTML somehow. It does not have to be advanced, just basic enough to keep up with the tutorial. So, I am assuming that you know at least what HTML tags are.
To start, let us first draw a sketch of what the website will potentially look like, just to have an idea where we will place these elements, and this is also the mind mapping session. I will go through it quickly, but I should warn you that if this was a client’s work, you would need to spend a little bit more time just to understand the brief better as well as the usability of the website. You will need to respect design principles, which is a whole other tutorial. We will use a very simple and clean design for this.

You will also notice that some links and buttons have French labels: this is because the tutorial was initially in French. But this will not affect the code in any way.
